There is no doubt that even just the THOUGHT of a boudoir photography session can be scary! When talking to women about scheduling a session, we get allllll kinds of questions. So here is a list of the top 12 most frequently asked questions to give you some insight on preparing for your very own boudoir session with us!
“Do you share my images?”
Our number 1 priority is making sure our clients are comfortable…ESPECIALLY when it comes to your privacy and your final images! This experience can be life-changing, but it is also nerve-wracking. You may just be learning how to love your body and you aren’t quite ready to share your images with the world, or these images may be a gift for your partner and are for their eyes only, or you may have no reason at all other than you just don’t want to share your images, and that is absolutely okay!! Rest easy knowing the decision to share your images publicly lies COMPLETELY in your hands.
“Do I have to wear lingerie?”
Quick answer: No! Remember, your boudoir session is entirely about YOU. So if lingerie isn’t your style, we can work together to come up with wardrobe ideas that will flatter your figure but still be within your comfort wheel-house.
“Do you have payment plans?”
Absolutely we do! We require each and every one of our clients to get set up on a payment plan within 30 days of booking. Why? Well for two reasons actually. 1. It allows for you to show up for your session and really enjoy the entire experience from top to bottom without having to worry about the investment. 2. It allows us to shoot your images based on specific items. For example, if we know you want a killer piece of wall art to hang above your bed, we are going to map out poses to make that happen! That being said, we don’t require you to make one swipe and pay for your entire experience with us in one-fell-swoop. Of course you can (hellooooo credit card perks), but most of our clients break up their payments into smaller chunks leading up to their session by utilizing us as a layaway option or ‘Boudie Bank’. You can make biweekly or monthly payments toward your collection, having it paid in full before even stepping foot in the studio! We even allow you to book your session 12+ months in advance, so you can really get ahead start on your investment. All of this boils down to: yes, we offer payment methods to make your boudoir experience with us not only an easy ‘yes’ but one to fit your budget as well!
“Is hair and makeup included?”
Yes! Hair and makeup is included with your boudoir session experience. It’s important to take the time to get pampered, relax, let those nerves release before your photoshoot, and enjoy the pampering!! Your final makeup look will be one that accentuates your features while still looking natural and effortless.
“Do you photoshop my images?”
Long and short answer: Yes and No. Believe it or not your images will be just about perfect straight out of the camera. Lighting and posing is truly our strong suit and one we are massively confident in. Based on your pre-session questionnaire, we know exactly what features you are looking to show off and the ones you want to downplay. When it comes to the final edit on your selected images, we adjust lighting, skin smooth, and remove anything that isn’t permanent on your body such as pimples, bruises, etc. You are more than welcome to make requests on top of what we typically do, as our end goal is to have you looking at your images AMAZED and in awe of what you see. Most of our clients see their images just lightly edited at their same-day image reveal and absolutely fall in love (and that’s not even the final outcome yet!!) So yes, we edit your images, but your images are mostly already perfect straight out of the camera. You’ll see.
“Where should I buy outfits?”
If this isn’t one of our all-time favorite questions!! We LOVE outfit shopping. Of course we have a few favorite stores that are featured in our client closet (*Remember* We carry an assortment of lingerie for client use here in the studio with sizes ranging from XS-5X), but we have created a LARGE list of stores for clients to check out! It really all comes down to the vibe of your session. That being said, to rattle off a few of our favorite shops: Honey Birdette, Lounge, Aerie, Torrid, Ashley Stewart, SavageXFenty.
“What type of products do you have?”
We offer a variety of luxury albums and products! Our albums are absolutely drool-worthy when you see them in person; choose from leather, velvet, or suede, textiles, and a plethora of color choices. Every album is hand-crafted by an all-women team and every detail is taken into account. There are many customization options to really make each and every album as unique as its owner. Aside from albums, we offer fine art folios, metal wall art, matted prints, and more. Many of our clients even add on fun items like a custom hoodie or table-top calendar!
“Do you offer digitals?”
All of our collections include a variety of print products, as well as corresponding high-resolution digitals! Some of our collections even include ALL of the final images from your session with us which typically is anywhere from 50-80+ digitals!! We only offer digital images alongside physical products because we are a true believer in printing your images!
“I’m freaking out!! How can I calm my nerves?”
Nerves are all part of the experience! Everyone has nerves, so you are certainly not alone. Quite frankly, it would be weird if you WEREN’T nervous!! All you have to do is show up, that’s it. Just walk through the door, and as soon as you do, I promise, you will slowly melt into the experience. Our main goal while you’re in our space is comfort! We will have music playing, a cold drink for you, and a chair to hang out in while you’re pampered with hair and makeup. If you’re super nervous, read through our guides, read the testimonials online, and if worse comes to worse, give us a call!
“How many outfits should I bring?”
None, some, or all! Our Client Closet is fully stocked for you to utilize during your session, with sizes XS-5X, including some accessories, as well. You can rely completely on the client closet, you can bring pieces from home, or mix and match with our items and yours! All of our session experiences include 3 outfits, but can add on additional looks as a bonus. Take advantage of our complimentary lingerie consultation, where you can come into the studio, try on items from our client closet, and narrow down your outfit selections to help ease those pre-session jitters. As always, we are here to help if you have a hard time deciding!
“Should I get to my boudoir shoot early?”
We always say, plan to be early, so you are on time. As you know, weather and traffic can be unpredictable. We want you to arrive SAFELY to your session. If you plan to be here about 10 minutes early, that should give you enough time if you run into a snag. But our main thing is COMMUNICATION. If you are running late, just send us a text so we know when to expect you. Drive safely and get ready for the experience of a lifetime!
“Where is your studio located?”
We are right over the Maryland/Pennsylvania border in York County, PA. Specifically, we are located off of N George St in Manchester, PA.
