I’ve never experienced something as liberating as boudoir photography. The rush. The reeling. That inevitable moment, the way the energy shifts, when a woman returns to her body and commands the frame. It’s undeniably mesmerizing. I know not only as an artist who has witnessed hundreds of clients revel in their reclamation; but because I’ve lived it. I’ve felt it. Boudoir photography unleashed me - long before it became my medium.
You see back in 2019, after giving birth to my first born, motherhood threw me to depths I never knew existed. I fell madly in love with my son and madly out of love with myself. Drained. Disconnected. Consumed by the day to day tasks of taking care of others. I felt caged in this new, expanded identity of mine.

& then there was my husband.
While I was busy washing bottles and hating my body, he was begging to worship her. For the way she miraculously carried our family, carried me. He asked me to take sexy pictures for him. I thought he was fu*king insane. Because there was no “bounce back” here. No pre-pregnancy jeans. No at home mommy and me workout routine to be found. But, after what felt like months of requests, I listened.
Dusted off my Canon Rebel T7, styled a backdrop below the evening window light, and went for it. At first, I felt overwhelmingly awkward… nervous even. Like the sultry, yet soft side of myself needed more than just awakening. However, I turned up my spicy playlist and let my body take me where she wanted to go - without judgement or hesitation. My breath elongated. My hips caught the beat. My hands graced the scattered scars of all the women I had to survive and stretch into to be here now. After a song or two, I snapped out of the trance and ran to the back of the camera to see what I had captured. Magic. Imperfect and embodied magic.
That session in our spare bedroom changed me. Not only did it spark a deeper purpose (& make my husband happy as hell); but it revealed what I was always made of.
A woman who knows her worth. A woman who is intuitive and wildly creative. A woman who is a present partner. A woman who loves her babies with every ounce of her soul. A woman who knows that - while her body may have changed - it's still captivating and deserves to be celebrated.
